Goldsmith Primary Academy Showcases Excellence and Innovation

13th June 2025

Goldsmith Primary Academy welcomed over 30 education leaders this week for our Summer Showcase Day — a celebration of the school’s exceptional year and a chance to share practice with peers from across the system.

Guests included CEOs, school improvement leads, Department for Education colleagues, and leaders from a number of academy trusts. They explored how Goldsmith’s ambitious culture, inclusive ethos, and innovative practice are delivering excellent outcomes for pupils.

With national recognition as an Apple Distinguished School, Digital Innovator of the Year, and finalist for two TES Awards — Primary School of the Year and Early Years Foundation Stage Setting of the Year — Goldsmith is helping shape conversations across the sector about what’s possible.

A Closer Look at Goldsmith’s Journey

The Showcase featured staff-led sessions and classroom tours centred around:

  • Teaching and Learning: A focus on consistency, metacognition and coaching through StepLab

  • Curriculum: Carefully sequenced, knowledge-rich and ambitious for all learners

  • SEND: An inclusive, accessibility-first model using tools like multimodal feedback and personal learning pathways

  • Digital Strategy: Purposeful use of iPads and Apple tools, guided by EmpowerED

  • Civic and Sustainability Work: From community hub projects to a Green Flag Award, values are lived out daily

Visitors joined guided tours with school leaders, saw live lessons in action, and explored the school’s approach to digital transformation — supported by strong partnerships with Showbie and Jigsaw24. Among the guests was Abdul Chohan, Vice President of Showbie, who spent time with leaders and staff during the event.

Voices from the Day

Mr Wakeman (Headteacher) said:
“We’re proud of what our school community has achieved — and it was fantastic to welcome colleagues from across education. The Showcase was a celebration of our journey and a reflection of our values: tenacity, transparency and trust.”

Mr Khan (Assistant Headteacher and Primary Digital Transformation Lead) added:

“There was a real energy throughout the day — a sense of pride, curiosity and purpose. We loved sharing our story, hearing reflections from our guests, and creating space to connect with others who care deeply about improving education.”

Sharing Practice, Shaping the System

The day wasn’t just about celebration — it was about contribution. As part of Windsor Academy Trust’s wider commitment to system leadership, the Showcase created space to share what’s working and learn from others. From early years and edtech to curriculum design and community leadership, Goldsmith is offering real insight into what’s possible when schools put people and purpose at the heart of their work.
