Pastoral Support

Goldsmith Primary Academy provides a warm, welcoming and safe environment for all children. We provide a wide range of support to ensure that students settle into life at primary school and enjoy their time at our school.

Pastoral Team

  • Mrs S Middleton - Head of Student Services, DSL, Mental Health First Aider
  • Mrs Taylor-Janes - Deputy Head of Student Services, DDSL, Family Support Worker
  • Mrs Lewis - Attendance and Educational Welfare Officer
  • Miss Malli - Student Services Administrator, ADSL
  • Mrs Franks - ELSA Lead and Medical Officer

Family Support

Mrs Taylor-Janes is our Family Support Worker. She can offer help, advice and support to our families in a range of ways. If you require any assistance, or simply want a ‘listening ear’, we are here to help. Areas we can support include:

  • our local Early Help Hub
  • managing children’s behaviour at home
  • parenting programmes
  • accessing funding for free school meals or school uniform grants
  • food bank vouchers
  • advice and support with rehousing
  • form-filling and much more.

We have lots of links with other agencies too so if we can’t help, hopefully, we'll know someone who can!

Behaviour Support

We support our children to achieve their potential by overcoming barriers to learning both inside and outside the school. We use a variety of strategies such as 1:1 mentoring, nurture groups, classroom support, lunchtime clubs, parental engagement and the delivery of Forest School sessions.
