Personal, Social and Health Education (Including Relationships and Sex Education)

At Goldsmith, we are aware of our own and others personal, social and mental health. We also recognise there are a variety of positive relationships between all human beings...

The AvenueAt Goldsmith, we are aware of our own and others’ personal, social and mental health, recognising the importance of developing resilience, confidence and empathy in a diverse and modern world. Through the Jigsaw PSHE curriculum, pupils are equipped with the knowledge, skills and emotional literacy to make positive decisions about their health, wellbeing and relationships. Lessons are structured around six core themes – Being Me in My World, Celebrating Difference, Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, Relationships, and Changing Me – ensuring a spiral progression of knowledge and understanding from EYFS to Year 6. This approach promotes self-awareness, inclusion and respect for others, helping pupils to form safe, healthy and positive relationships both online and offline.

Anti-Bullying Week 2025: Power for GoodPSHE and RSE are taught weekly across school and enriched through themed weeks such as Anti-Bullying Week, Mental Health Awareness Week, and Deaf Awareness Day, reinforcing the importance of compassion, equality and respect. Teachers use Jigsaw’s mindfulness-based structure to help pupils regulate emotions, reflect, and engage purposefully in learning. Evidence of progress is captured through discussion, reflection and Class Journals, demonstrating pupils’ growing confidence in expressing themselves and understanding the world around them. At Goldsmith, our PSHE curriculum ensures that every child feels valued, safe and empowered to thrive as a confident, kind and responsible citizen.
